Pic of the day - What's One More than a Turkey?
This pic is from yesterday, but I couldn't get it online then. DS is
on the bowling team. They were playing a meet, and he started racking
up strikes. More than I had ever seen him do before. Two of them were
Longo Strikes, where we didn't think they were going down but they
did. After the 3rd one, we started all watching closely when he walked
up to the line, to see what would happen, could he get another one? He
got a 4th. Then frame with a spare. Then another strike. Wow. After he
broke the initial run, I was thinking, "Alright, one is a strike, two
is a double, three is a turkey ... what is four?" I asked the other
parents at our table. They didn't know. I went to the other parent
table. They didn't know. They said, "Ask this guy here, he'll know."
He did. He said, "It's a four-bagger." A four-bagger? What a weird
name. After the meet, DS said he knew the name. I don't remember what
he said, but it was nothing I'd ever heard, and I think he made it up.
Now, Wikipedia agrees with the knowledgeable gentleman at the alley.
Four-bagger. Or, a hambone.
1 - strike
2 - double
3 - turkey
4 - hambone
5 - yahtzee
6 - sixpack or wild turkey
I should live so long. ;) Anyway, definitely a pic of the day!!

A breaking news story is gaining momentum. A man who took out some long-term bets, but has since died, is leaving the winnings to Oxfam. So we had a photographer around from the Oxford Mail to take pictures of the staff holding William Hill certificates of the bets.
So I took the opportunity of photographing the photographer at work. Amazing contortions people have to do so the pic frames all! ;-)
