Small 60mm x 60mm photograph.

A member of a communications detachment poses with some of his equipment outside what is probably an old barn or farm house converted into his barracks.

With another Thunderstorm aproaching Sydney, I just had to get my Camera out.
One thing about Australia that I always found amazing is the crazy amount of telegraph (or power) poles and lines. It must have to do with the ground being tough to dig out. I mean its mainly solid rock... Maybe someone out there has an answer.

S2 IS normal macro test image

37mm, 0.5 sec, f/8.0, from a tripod using the self timer.

Slightly over exposed for detail, then gamma adjusted and reduced to 1024x768.

Unlike all my other slow exposures, there is no possibility of shake or subject motion in this image.

(No USM in the 1024x768 resampling.)

Whilst taking the kids for a walk in the local woods today I saw the skeletal branches of this Oak at the end of a tunnel of pines.

It was sihouetted by the bright winter sun and just struck me as an interesting image.
