buddha picture with plant
pictures
This free picture of a sitting Buddha portrait was created by my charismatic friend epSos.de. This beautiful picture can be used for free, if you link epSos.de as the original author of the image.

This Buddha portrait sitting tranquilly next to a green plant. The owner of the house is a Buddhist who believes that the sutras and the figure calms the mind and spirit. Some say Buddhism is a religion while others look upon it as a form of philosophy. It is largely based on teachings attributed to Siddhartha Gautama, commonly known as the Buddha. He is also known to be "the awakened one".

He was born in a royal Hindu Kshatriya family and was shielded from the knowledge of human suffering since young. At the age of 29, Siddhartha left his palace and discovered the sick, aged and suffering of humankind for the every first time. These depressed him. He started to meditate and led a ascetic life. After he almost got himself killed when he restricted his food intake, he finally reconsidered his path. Gautama then sat under the Bodhi tree and meditated for 49 days. Lastly at the age of 35, he is said to have attained Enlightenment.

The roots of Buddhism lie in the religious thought of ancient India. Now, it is one of the most widespread religion in the world especially in East Asia, Tibet, Mongolia, China and Russia.

Thank you for sharing this picture with your friends !
