Day 215 - West Midlands Police - Team GB member supporting a Safe Haven Scheme

Great photograph of England and Team GB footballer Karen Carney supporting the Safe Haven Team in east Birmingham.

Safe Haven officers bridge the gap between young people and the police. This picture shows a recent charitable donation of £10,000 being presented to the Safe Haven committee. The league involves hundreds of young people every year.

The money will help to guarantee the future of their football league and awards ceremony for three more seasons. The funds will also be used to expand the number of teams in the league.

In two years, the project has had over 800 young people involved!

Not sure what the story was here... these two guys called me over to take their picture as I was walking by. They were part of a football team and were drunk or at least getting there... Some of their team mates made all sorts of comments in Dutch about this but I had no idea what they were saying. .. anyways, it's a nice shot of them.
