Local trial attorney Roy Copeland said "It is always the government's responsibility. It never shifts. You know that is one of the several commonalities of a criminal case. The burden of proof is never with the accused."

We reached out to FSU's athletic department. They say they are still gathering information before determining what course of action to take.

Omaha, NE - June 19, 2012 - 3pm -

On the day of Florida State's most important game of the season, the Seminoles are dealing with a distraction besides UCLA. Freshman John Holland has been suspended indefinitely.

According to Omaha Police, Holland and Steven Holland were arrested Monday on suspicion of shoplifting from Scheels sporting goods store. The two are suspected of changing the price tags in an attempt to lower the prices on items.

FSU head baseball coach Mike Martin released this statement on Tuesday. “The young man in question, John Holland, made a serious error in judgment. Due to a violation of team rules, he has been suspended indefinitely. The university will have no further comment on the situation.”

FSU will face UCLA in an elimination game of the college world series Tuesday night at 8:00pm EST. Holland had a two RBI double in the 6th inning of Florida State's opening game against Arizona and is hitting .243 on the season.

Holland was due in court this morning and his charge was reduced to a municipal ticket with a fine. The charge will not show on his record.

Five Women Arrested for Shoplifting

www.wctv.tv/home/headlines/Five_Women_Arrested_for_Shopli...

Tallahassee - June 21, 2012 - 12:02am

On May 12, 2012, loss prevention officers at the Belk department store located at 2415 North Monroe Street contacted the Leon County Sheriff’s Office after discovering what appeared to be an organized
group of females stealing several items of designer clothing.

The incidents were captured on video surveillance and observed by loss prevention officers as well as detectives from the Crimes Against
Property Unit.

On multiple occasions, the women would enter the store together carrying large shopping bags. Surveillance images show the women stuffing the bags with designer clothes and then walking out of
the store without paying for the items hidden in the bags. During one of the incidents, loss prevention officers attempted to contact the women as they exited the store with the large shopping bags.

The women left the bags outside the store and fled the area. Loss prevention officers recovered over ,200.00 of stolen clothing. They also discovered that the large shopping bags contained an
aluminum lining which defeated the stores anti-theft sensors.

At least five different incidents have been captured on the store’s video surveillance. On each occasion the stolen clothing is valued in excess of 0.00. Detectives believe this group is part of a larger
group of individuals who are targeting retail stores in the area.

On June 18, 2012, Detectives located Kimly Jones, 18, Kenia Germain, 22, Stephanie Germain, 21, Lateria Williams, 25, and Kavira Green, 25. All were arrested and taken to the Leon County Jail.
This investigation is continuing and additional arrests and charges are likely. All are charged with grand theft.

He was charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana and taken to the Lowndes County Jail. Reid has been released on bond. This is not his first run in with the law.

Reid was arrested last September and accused of lying to police - who were trying to figure out who was riding his scooter that night. The man had fled from police during a traffic stop. The state attorney later dropped the charges against Reid in that case. Now, he's facing new charges in an incident from last night.

There's no word as of now, if or how this latest development will impact Reid's play on the football field.

WCTV has obtained the police report in the arrest of Star FSU football player Greg Reid.

Reid was pulled over around 9 o'clock on Tuesday night by a Georgia State Trooper in Lake Park.

He was initially arrested for a suspended license. The trooper later smelled burnt marijuana. After searching the vehicle he found a small bag of the drug as well as a partially burnt marijuana filled cigar.

The report by Trooper Kinsey says "Mr. Reid stated that he did not smoke marijuana and that it was not his."

the report goes on to say "Mr. Reid asked if I could write him a ticket and let him go and I advised him I could not do that."

Following normal procedures, he was taken to the Lowndes County Jail and bonded out a little after midnight on Wednesday.

Valdosta Resident Charles Todd said "regardless of anybody, how much money you make, you know, what kind of background you come from. Black, white Hispanic, if you make the mistake you should receive the same treatment."

According the police report, Reid's defense is the marijuana didn't belong to him ... But it's not up to him to prove it.

Local trial attorney Roy Copeland said "It is always the government's responsibility. It never shifts. You know that is one of the several commonalities of a criminal case. The burden of proof is never with the accused."

We reached out to FSU's athletic department. They say they are still gathering information before determining what course of action to take.

[UPDATE] -- July 11, 2012 -- 6:45PM --

A star corner-back for the FSU's Seminoles has been arrested in Lake Park, Georgia.

Greg Reid was arrested around 8 o'clock on Tuesday night. He's charged with possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license.

The Georgia State Patrol Post Commander Carl Taylor said "Trooper Kensey was working a late shift last night 7/10. He conducted a traffic stop on a white sedan in the Lake Park area. The traffic stop, I believe, was for window tint and a possible seat belt violation. During the course of the traffic stop the driver was identified as Mr. Gregory Reid."

That's not all that was identified... Reid's suspended license and a small amount of marijuana led to him being arrested around 8PM.

He was taken to the Lowndes County Jail and was released on bond a little after midnight on July 11.

We reached out to Florida State University. Head coach Jimbo Fisher said "I am aware that Greg has been charged and will gather all the information before I determine what course of action to take."

This isn't Reid's first brush with the law. He was arrested last September 2011 and accused of lying to police. The state attorney later dropped the charges against him in that case.

An official police report is expected to be completed within the next few days. Stay tuned for any new details on Reid's arrest and FSU's reaction.

Faroese Football Players from FC Suðuroy and Víkingur Gøta

This photo was taken at the match between the Faroese Premier League teams Víkingur Gøta and FC Suðuroy. This was the second last match in the 2010 season. FC Suðuroy is one of the bottom teams and might have to play in the second best division next year. But nothing is settled yet. FC Suðuroy has now 22 points and B71 Sandoy has 23 points, AB Argir has no chance, they have only got 11 points. Nothing is settled in the top of the league either. HB Tórshavn has 51 points and EB/Streymur has 48, so next weekend is quite exciting. The result of this match was FC Suðuroy 0 - 2 Víkingur. The goals were scored by Finnur Justinussen and Hans Jørgen Djurhuus. The match was played on 17 October 2010 on Eiðinum football field in Vágur, Faroe Islands.
