NCAA FOOTBALL- Ball State's Keith Wenning threw for two touchdowns and Steven Schott kicked three field goals as the Cardinals held off Army, 30-22, Saturday at an overcast Michie Stadium.
Army fell behind 14-0 and 27-13 but rallied both times to keep it close. Ball State answered each time with another score and improved to 6-3.
Wenning completed 18-of-27 passes for 189 yards and Jahwan Edwards rushed 30 times for 148 yards to pace the Cardinals.
Army senior quarterback Trent Steelman rushed 17 times for 101 yards and completed 3-of-5 passes for 38 yards. Junior fullback Hayden Tippett carried 20 times for a career-best 100 yards and a touchdown.
